How to use it
- In the TikTok app, tap Share and then Copy link. Short links (vm.tiktok.com) and full browser links both work.
- Paste the link and press Get cover.
- Press Download cover to save the image, or copy the caption or only its hashtags with the buttons under it.
What you get
The cover is the image TikTok shows when a video is embedded on another website, usually a vertical 720×1280 picture. Next to it you get the caption exactly as written, its hashtags as a separate list, and the creator's name and profile link.
All of it comes from TikTok's public embed service, the same one websites use to embed a TikTok. If a video can be embedded, this tool can read it.
When it can't find a video
Private, deleted and age-restricted videos, videos blocked in some regions and accounts that don't allow embedding return nothing from TikTok's embed service, so there's nothing to show. For photo posts, TikTok usually returns one cover image, not every photo.
Download, don't hotlink
TikTok's image links are signed and stop working after a while. If you need the cover in a document or a design, download the file instead of copying the image address.
Questions
- Can I download the TikTok video, with or without the watermark?
- No. This site doesn't download videos. If the creator allows it, the TikTok app offers Save video in the share menu; creators can download their own posts in the app too.
- Why isn't the cover the frame the creator picked?
- The embed cover is chosen by TikTok and can differ from the cover in the app grid, especially for older videos or photo posts.
- Does it work for Instagram Reels or Snapchat?
- No. Instagram and Snapchat don't offer a public embed service without a logged-in developer app, and this site doesn't scrape. For your own captions, the caption counter and hashtag counter work for every platform.
- Is the link stored?
- No. It's sent to TikTok's embed service to look up the video and isn't saved.
